On January 2, 1929 Eddie Shore missed the team train as it was leaving Boston Garden for a game at the Montreal Forum. An incoming blizzard had halted commercial travel out of Boston, so Shore decided to take matters into his own hands. Shore and a driver decided to make the 300 plus mile trek by car from Boston to Montreal. In a time before the modern highway system and four- wheel drive, the journey would prove to be anything but easy.
