It is based on 24 poems from the medieval collection Carmina Burana (Songs from Benediktbeuern), a manuscript of 254 poems and dramatic texts mostly from the 11th or 12th century, written mostly in Latin, with a few in German and some in a mixture of Latin and German or French. Portland Community Wind Band (PCWB) is dedicated to enriching our community through excellence in music performance and education. We strive to provide a challenging and engaging environment for our members while reaching out to the community through large and small ensemble performances.
