It's designed to drain into a sink and use an aerator from a faucet. I have mine custom fitted (as in I have it hooked up to a dedicated water line and it drains into the shower.) when the hose isn't in use (the drain hose) I put it in a spare plastic toilet paper holder to make sure it doesn't leak onto the floor. Other thoughts on this topic include, I bought an extender hose for the drain, seems to be working well. I am glad I bought it. Don't overload it or the clothes will float on the top and there are other settings for how long you want to wash. So far I've used the 93 minutes, the 56? maybe 58? minute, the 46 minute and the 15 minute quick wash. They all work fine as far as I can tell. I've been sure to use HE high efficiency soap. I have plans on trying another brand that is considered ecofriendly and is powder rather than liquid. For now, I haven't had a chance to try that brand yet. I don't mind drying the clothes on a line in the basement or on a drying rack. It would be more convenient to have a dedicated drier but then when would I ever stop buying stuff online?
