How To Cure Teeth Sensitivity Forever : Expert & Effective Dentist Tips.

Welcome back to my channel, everyone! I'm Dr. Upasana Gosalia, and in today's video, we're delving into a topic that affects many of us: "Teeth Sensitivity." Have you ever cringed while enjoying your favourite ice cream or a hot cup of coffee? That sudden twinge of discomfort is what we call teeth sensitivity, and in this video, we're going to explore what causes it, how you can tackle it at home, and the treatment options available. What is Teeth Sensitivity? Teeth sensitivity, also known as dentin hypersensitivity, occurs when the protective layer of enamel on your teeth wears down, exposing the underlying dentin. Dentin contains tiny tubules that lead to the tooth's nerve, making it susceptible to external stimuli like temperature changes and certain foods. Common Causes of Teeth Sensitivity: 1) Brushing Habits: Aggressive brushing and using a hard-bristle toothbrush can lead to enamel erosion and sensitivity. 2) Gum Recession: Receding gums expose the tooth roots and increase sensitivity. 3) Acidic Diet: Regular consumption of acidic foods and drinks can weaken enamel over time. 4) Grinding or Clenching: Teeth grinding or clenching can wear down enamel and cause sensitivity. 5) Dental Procedures: Some dental treatments like teeth whitening can temporarily increase sensitivity. 6) Cracked Teeth: Cracks or fractures in teeth can expose sensitive areas. 7) Gum Disease: Gingivitis or periodontitis can lead to gum recession and sensitivity. Tackling Teeth Sensitivity at Home: While it's important to consult a dentist for a proper diagnosis, there are several steps you can take at home to alleviate teeth sensitivity: 1) Switch to a Soft-Bristle Toothbrush: Use a soft-bristle toothbrush and gentle brushing motions to avoid further enamel erosion. 2) Desensitising Toothpaste: Consider using desensitising toothpaste containing ingredients like potassium nitrate or fluoride to block the tubules and reduce sensitivity. 3) Avoid Acidic Foods: Cut back on acidic foods and drinks to prevent enamel erosion. 4) Practice Proper Oral Hygiene: Maintain consistent oral hygiene practices to keep your teeth and gums healthy. 5) Limit Teeth Grinding: If you grind your teeth, consider using a mouthguard at night to protect your enamel. 6) Fluoride Rinse: Rinse with a fluoride mouthwash to strengthen enamel and reduce sensitivity. Professional Treatment Options: If your sensitivity persists or worsens, it's best to consult a dentist for professional treatment options, such as: Fluoride Treatment: In-office fluoride applications can strengthen enamel and reduce sensitivity. Dental Bonding: Applying a protective resin over exposed dentin can provide relief. Remember, everyone's dental needs are unique, so it's crucial to seek personalised advice from a dental professional.
