Airbrush & Hairy Stick - 1/35 Pz III Ausf J from Academy - 1/35 WW2 Diorama

In the second video showing my current diorama project in a bit more detail than is usual, we take a look at painting the 1/35 Academy Pz III Ausf J 'North Arica'. This is also my first project using AK Interactive's 3rd Gen Acrylic Paints for both the airbrush and normal paint brush. If you're interested.....for airbrushing I've found the paints are not as easy to use as Tamiya and thinning the paint is a bit hit and miss for me at the moment. In the video I used the AK Acrylic thinner in a 50/50 paint/thinner ratio with an air pressure of 1 bar (approx 15 psi) but I found spraying the paint to be a bit inconsistent with paint drying on the needle tip regularly. That said, I am impressed by the colour range and also the finish of the paint when it's dried. For brush painting it seems a bit easier to use with more consistent results but thinning the paint is still a very finicky thing to do correctly and involved a lot of experimentation. Anyway, I'll stick with it for the time being as a one stop acrylic paint solution for both airbrush and hairy stick has a certain appeal to me......Someone recommended to me adding Flow Improver to the paint for airbrushing, so I will be trying that and hopefully things will fall in to place the more practice I get with it.
