It's very normal when you start feeding your baby solids (baby led weaning or purees) to feel nervous or afraid of your baby choking. It can help to know the difference between gagging and choking. Gagging is totally normal reflex and KEEPS your baby safe from choking! Your baby is learning how to navigate foods in their mouth to safely eat! Know the signs of choking (no breathing, gasp coughing, turning blue, eyes bulging). Mouth play with teethers can also help your baby learn to navigate objects!
