Love Miku! Dream Miku! And now, after working so closely with Junky's "Sweet Magic" tune, I will also add "Live Rin! Love Rin! Dream RIN!" The Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2016 concert was located in Makuhari Messe International Exhibition hall in Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo, Japan. The very large, sprawling, multi-level concert halls provides the largest venue possible in Japan for "THE" Vocaloid concert each year - the Magical Mirai Concert series - always held around August 31 of each year. As all Vocaloid fans well know, August 31 is Hatsune Miku's "Birthday", and in 2016 she turned 9 at the Magical Mirai concert. In 2016, the concerts were held on September 9 - 11, 2016. The concert itself featured 23 regular performances and 3 encore performances by mostly Miku, but also Rin, Len, Kaito, Meiko and of course Luka was there, as well. Granted, and to the consternation of many, Miku is "the" star of the MM concert series, with the other Vocaloids making appearances, but only for short periods of time. Kagamine Rin's performance of "Sweet Magic" was a welcome "Miku break", and certainly was well received by the audience! The performance by Rin of "Sweet Magic" at the MM 2016 concert as the 17th song performed that evening. And what a fun, uplifting song Junky wrote, originally released to the world in 2011! In the live venue, the song received much screams and shouts by the audience. Featuring Rin as a chef and baker of that perfect relationship, she adds her "Sweet Magic" to her daily cooks surprise meal. As always, there are hidden meanings in this Vocaloid song, as Rin discusses how there are "up/good" days in a relationship, but there are also many "down/bad" days in the same relationship... This makes the relationship stronger! She uses "sweet", "sour" and "bitter" to address this hidden meaning. But mainly, I needed to put together a happy, fun, easy song, and Rin's version was perfect! And hey, that golden whisk used as her microphone - classic... Just sayin'. Staying true to my "criteria" on songs to subtitle: 1. I have to like the song, have to identify with it! This song was a pure "ear worm" for weeks on end for me - I often woke up in the middle of the night with this song going through my head! 2. I want a live version - so few live versions of Vocaloid songs are subtitled, and I love the energy of the live crowd! 3. Not many (or no) reliable, easy to read and correct English subtitled version of the song available - My audience is mostly to the United States, where I live, so I try to put the translations into "American English". 4. Those songs which have entered the prestigious Hall of Legend status.
