How to Salvage a Small Sunken Fishing Boat

The Boatbreakers team had a local collection this week (April 2022) to salvage and dispose of a sunken fishing boat from a mooring in Gosport. The boat had gone down in a recent storm and was still attached to the pontoon. We are not sure why the boat had sunk. Haslar creek is quite a sheltered area of Portsmouth Harbour. Her engine had been removed after the sinking. It is likely the boat was plundered for anything valuable after the incident. Aided by our friends at OT Divers and Portsmouth Marine Services the boat was recovered and pulled across to the nearby slipway for us to collect. The video was filmed with our drone and an iPhone 12. The boat has now been taken to the Boat Scrapyard to be disposed of.
