Pavlos Kastanas He studied Physics at the University of Athens and has a Master in Astrophysics from Queen Mary, University of London, where he graduated. He has been involved with education in private tertiary education as a lecturer at Derby University, teaching undergraduate science courses (Physics, Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics) as well as secondary education as a Physics and Chemistry professor . He was a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of London, and for his educational work he was awarded the "Academic Staff Recognition and Excellence Award" in 2015 by Mediterranean College. He has created the "Astronio" channel to bring astronomy and the science closer to the Greek public. As he states, "The scientific discoveries of recent years are particularly impressive and have radically changed the way we see the world. However, I am particularly concerned that a huge part of both the Greek and the global public are completely ignorant of the new brilliant world that is revealed to our eyes." His goal is using his channel to put a small brick into the great building of science communication and allow more people to become acquainted with the beauty of the science. Παύλος Καστανάς Έχει σπουδάσει Φυσική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών και έχει Master στην Αστροφυσική από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Λονδίνου (Queen Mary, University of London) όπου και αρίστευσε. Ασχολείται εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια με την εκπαίδευση, τόσο με την ιδιωτική τριτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση, ως συνεργάτης-λέκτορας του Πανεπιστημίου του Derby διδάσκοντας προπτυχιακά μαθήματα θετικών επιστημών αλλά και με τη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση ως καθηγητής Φυσικής-Χημείας. Υπήρξε μέλος της βασιλικής αστρονομικής εταιρίας του Λονδίνου ενώ για το εκπαιδευτικό του έργο βραβεύθηκε το 2015 από το Mediterranean College με το βραβείο "Academic Staff Recognition and Excellence Award". Έχει δημιουργήσει το κανάλι "Astronio" με σκοπό να φέρει την αστρονομία και τις θετικές επιστήμες πιο κοντά στο ελληνικό κοινό. Όπως αναφέρει «Οι επιστημονικές ανακαλύψεις των τελευταίων χρόνων είναι ιδιαίτερα εντυπωσιακές και έχουν αλλάξει ριζικά τον τρόπο που βλέπουμε τον κόσμο. Ωστόσο, με ανησυχεί ιδιαίτερα το γεγονός ότι ένα τεράστιο μέρος του ελληνικού αλλά και του παγκόσμιου κοινού έχει πλήρη άγνοια για τον νέο λαμπρό κόσμο που αποκαλύπτεται μπροστά στα μάτια μας.» Στόχος του είναι με το κανάλι του να βάλει ένα μικρό λιθαράκι στο μεγάλο οικοδόμημα της επικοινωνίας της επιστήμης και να επιτρέψει να γνωρίσουν περισσότεροι άνθρωποι την ομορφιά των θετικών επιστημών.
