Más de 400 soldados y 100 caballos participan en el acto. -Se realiza el primer miércoles de cada mes, excepto enero, agosto y septiembre, siempre y cuando los actos oficiales lo permitan. -Comienza a las 12 de la mañana y dura unos 50 minutos, e incluye el relevo y exhibiciones de las unidades a caballo. -Tiene lugar en la plaza de la Armería a la que se puede acceder gratuitamente. -En la fachada de la Puerta del Príncipe se forma la guardia entrante que desfila hacia la Plaza de la Armería.
