By now, anyone who has subscribed to my channel has figured out that I am pretty random when it comes to the subjects of my videos. I do have many interests, so you just never know what kind of video I may do next! This video is a quick side by side comparison of the new Hot Wheels Elite and SunStar Back to the Future 1:18 scale DeLorean time machines. I could not find any reviews of the Hot Wheels 1:18 scale DeLorean on youtube so I thought I would put this together for anyone contemplating a purchase. As always, hobby items of the same subject from different manufacturers will have their strong and weak points. These DeLoreans are no different. At one point I mention that I cannot see the front turn signals behind the flux band on the bumper of the Hot Wheels car. They ARE there, but just not as easy to see as they are on the SunStar. Hot Wheels makes a better detailed model than the SunStar, but there are some body shape issues that the SunStar handles better, in my opinion. The Hot Wheels looks like it is sitting too high, for one thing. It actually reminds me of the scene in part III where Marty is driving the DeLorean in the desert among a bunch of Natives on horseback. The frame of the car was actually fitted to a dune buggy for that scene, giving it the higher ground clearance it needed for "4 Wheeling" that it was never intended by John DeLorean to do! Anyway, if you are contemplating a purchase of this model, I hope this video will help in the decision. Keep on FLUXING!
