The Korean baritone won the Main Prize that year. In the 2022/2023 season, Gihoon Kim will make his US debut at Washington National Opera. Recent roles include Marcello (La Bohème) at Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Korea National Opera. Future seasons will see him debut at opera houses and concert halls worldwide, including Bayerische Staatsoper, Royal Opera House, Dallas Opera and Danish Royal Opera, Wigmore Hall, and galas and recitals across Asia.
