I know from personal experience how exhausted parents can be at day's end, so story time in our house was "daddy time". Save your sanity and have some fun. Let me read "Hamster Huey" for the zillionth time. Kids grow up so fast. Make story time the most enjoyable part of your day. I don't just read, I interact and encourage children to think about each story. Anybody can video a pair of hands turning picture book pages. I carefully choose my stories for content and avoid about 90 percent of the fluff that passes for a picture book out there in order to share stories that are worth the paper they're printed on! As an elementary school teacher my favorite activity is always story time.
