So... we have included a fun video tip for you to learn how to teach your dog to roll out their bed or a yoga mat. This is a low impact trick which is great as you can teach it to an older dog, or a young puppy. The smaller the dog, the smaller the towel can be. Steps: Place a line of treats on the towel and then roll it up so only the last treat is peeking out. Call your dog over and point towards the treat that is showing. They should smell the remaining treats and nose the towel a bit to access them. Encourage them by saying your "good dog" just as they eat the treat. If they struggle you can help by rolling the towel out slightly. But don't worry they will catch on quick. When they get the towel completely unrolled Celebrate. Building on the Trick: After your dog has done the trick a few times and is pretty sure what is going on you can start adding a cue word such a "roll it". You can change your posture so your dog gets used to you not being on your knees and gradually straightening up and possibly stepping back. You can start fading the treats so that there are fewer and eventually you will reward with a treat from your pocket. Happy Holidays! Janice Gunn
