*Early Arrival* LAFD Battling Detached Garage Fire (Mid-City)

Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Curson Avenue and Washington Boulevard for a reported structure fire. Engine 68 and Battalion 18 were first on scene and reported smoke and fire showing from the rear of a single family dwelling. Firefighters utilized an offensive attack to extinguish the fire. After scrummaging through pack rat conditions, firefighters found the source of the fire to be in a detached garage. Fire attack from Engine 68, as well as backup fire attack from Engine 46, worked to extinguish the fire and prevented it from extending into the single family dwelling.
