"Pulls" describe something outside of the relationship that's pulling the spouse away. Dr. Joe Beam asks this caller to consider if there is a big enough "push" out of their relationship, or if there a big enough "pull" out of their relationship. This caller's wife may "feel" controlled and dominated, even if he didn't intend it. "How is it truly affecting the other person?"
