It's not that catchy compared to Gurenge, but the depth and the emotion really got me. I was surprised to hear the Byzantine scale in the Intro. (Also known as double harmonic scale or arabic scale, consists of 1 - b2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - b6 - 7 - 1), which is not common in Anisong. Yuki Kajiura used that scale in many of her OSTs like SAO's Boss fight, it can generates a really tense atmosphere. So even if you don't know the story yet, you know it's gonna be a tough fight hearing this. And I was fascinated with the C Dorian Mode in the middle of the song, it produced so much emotions there. Also, the coming guitar solo was awesome, so I did a lot of improvisation there as well. In the last interlude, the song even goes into a natural minor scale which is, again , not common in a normal Anisong, and it brings a lot of Japanese flavor to the music.
