Women's Pole Vault. Prefontaine Classic. Diamond League. Hayward Field, Eugene, OR, USA. 8/21/2021

The Women’s Pole Vault event kicked off at 12:43 (local time) at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on August 21, 2021, two weeks after the Tokyo Olympic Games. The temperature range that day was between 13°C - 26°C (55°F - 78°F), the City of Eugene is located at an altitude of 131 meters (430 feet) above sea level. The event featured a strong field of seven athletes, six of them Tokyo Olympic Finalists: Iryna Zhuk (Belarus), former Stanford University Cardinal Katerina Stefanidi (Greece), former Texas State University Bobcat Anicka Newell (Canada), former University of Georgia Lady Bulldog Morgann Leleux Romero (USA), Holly Bradshaw (Great Britain), the Olympic Champion Katie Nageotte (USA). Olympic Champ Katie Nageotte (USA) started her road to victory on the Fourth Height of the event (4.62 meters) which she cleared on her third try, then she cleared the Fifth Height (4.72 meters) on her second try, she skipped the Sixth Height (4.77 meters). Nageotte’s closest opponent Holly Bradshaw (Great Britain) also started the Competition on the Fourth Height (4.62 meters) clearing it on her second try, then she cleared the Fifth Height (4.72 meters) on her first try. Bradshaw skipped the Sixth Height (4.77 meters), to battle out First Place with Nageotte at the Seventh and Final Height of the Event (4.82 meters). Bradshaw (Great Britain) missed clearing 4.82 meters three times, while Nageotte (USA) cleared 4.82 meters on her third try to claim Victory at Hayward Field.
