Dolls (1955)

London. C/U of a doll in Victorian dress - described as "a fashion doll". She is standing on a podium which turns to display her outfit. She wears a red dress trimmed with lace and holds a parasol. L/S of Dorothy Sheare who makes the highly detailed costumes for these dolls. She sits behind a counter sewing by hand. M/S of her as she sews. C/U of Dorothy's face as the narrator explains she has spent many years in Europe studying art and the history of fashion. M/S of Dorothy dressing a doll. High angle shot which shows Dorothy and her doll and the counter which is covered with small pieces of fabric and reels of cotton. Dorothy places some hair on the head of the doll. L/S of Dorothy at work. Two women walk up to her and admire her work. They then climb up some stairs to a display of Dorothy's dolls. Various dolls are seen in C/U. The narrator describes the outfits the dolls are wearing. C/Us of the women as they admire the dolls. The dolls are turned for the camera. Outfits include a bridal gown and children's clothes.
