Law of Reciprocity: Your World Is A Reflection of Your Consciousness State

How do we enjoy a life where our surroundings reflect back to us joy, evolution and progress? We have to elevate our own state of consciousness first. Watch as Thom explains the Law of Reciprocity and how we live in a quantum mechanical world in which our consciousness leads the way for reflecting back to us everything that we wish to experience in the world. This is a saying that's around in every philosophical base. "For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction," to quote Newton. The idea that there is always something that is reflecting individual action, the Universe responds to individual action, this is the Vedic saying. What does this mean? It means that you are going to create your surroundings. Your surroundings are here to give you joy, and to benefit you, and please you, and make life happy in every way. You are, the individual, is responsible for their own surroundings. We create them. We are in a particular state of consciousness that causes the surroundings to assemble themselves in a particular way. Quantum mechanics also discusses how particles come into being out of a probability function, from an unmanifest state into a particle form, by virtue of the attempt to measure them. And the attempt to measure them involves a particular set of tools. So depending on what kind of tools you're using to measure if a particular particle is there, the quantum field can read the tools and will respond by creating a particle that is a response to that specific tool of measurement. In other words, there are no particles unless we're looking for particles. There is no world around us, unless we're actually expecting it. Everything that exists is a response to expectation. This is the law of reciprocity. Reciprocity simply means that there is a reciprocal interaction between our expectation, our state of consciousness, and the world in which we find ourselves. The idea that there's anything unjust, based on this view of things, is actually a fallacy. There are lots of people who howl with protest over this, "How can this be true? There are people suffering horribly, grievously at the hands of other people. How can there be any justice in this?" The fact is, the Vedic worldview is that suffering of every kind is caused by some kind of perceptual or consciousness deficiency. If a child is suffering, we don't consider it blameworthy that the child suffers. However, we do consider it factual that the suffering of the child would have been avoided had the child been an adult, somebody with more consciousness, with a greater and more comprehensive capability for response, and so on. We need, in the West, to get out of this idea of, and separate the two ideas of what is blame-worthy, versus what is simply factual. Taking blameworthiness aside - because in the West we are obsessed with pointing fingers and saying who is to blame for what - blameworthiness aside, the fact is suffering is caused by inability to have full consciousness. Whatever has brought that about, whether it's immaturity, or whether it is someone who is too young or, whatever. But what we do know is that somebody in a very heightened consciousness state is not able to be made to suffer by anyone. In other words, they cannot be forced into suffering, or tricked into suffering, or betrayed into suffering, or conditioned into suffering by any other form, or force, or whatever. They know that they have the capacity either to engage the world on its own terms, or simply not to be there. The ability to have choice is an ability that is a gift of the highest possible consciousness state. And so then that ability to not be there and make oneself available for suffering, is something that is one of the products of being in the highest consciousness state. Reciprocity simply has to do with that fundamental idea that individuality has its reflection of its consciousness state everywhere around itself in the surroundings. And so, what does this say to us? It says that if you're finding your surroundings unhelpful to your evolution, unhelpful to your happiness, you need to change your consciousness state. Rather than racing around trying to change what everybody else is doing, rather than racing around trying to change physical environments, and so on, one needs to elevate one's own consciousness state, and the law of reciprocity will demonstrate to you that you are now in surroundings that suit your new consciousness state. #ThomKnoles #VedicMeditation #VedicWorldView
