This 193ha farm is situated on the foot of the Mountains ensuring a higher and more frequent rainfall compared to other farm that are situated further away from the mountains, the long-term average rainfall exceeds 700mm/year. The farm has registered irrigation rights from the Kouma River and borders the river for 2.3 km, one of the best rivers in the area with a very good catchment area. A tributary of the Kouma River runs through the farm, also a good water source compared to other rivers/streams in the area. A dam in the tributary gets filled up and then overflows into the Kouma River. Both the rivers have impressive waterfalls and cliffs as well as beautiful indigenous vegetation that includes big yellowwood trees that draws the main attention to nature lovers. The farm is home to a wide range of free roaming wildlife including klipspringer, bushbuck, cape grysbok, duiker and various other smaller animals and a long list of bird species. A couple of springbucks also adds to the list with a cape nature approved captivity permit. The old fields are overgrown, but with the water rights from the river and good soil the farm has above average irrigation potential for high value crops. Previous owners used to plant vegetables and farmed with livestock. Farmers in the area farm with crops including avocados, citrus, macadamias, various types of vegetables, and pasture crops for livestock and/or dairy cattle. A 13-ha camp has new fencing, a 14 strand 1.5-meter-high fence. The rest of the fences are old and not in a condition to keep animals. The whole farm is run with Solar, fully off the Eskom grid. An Eskom connection is available but switched off and not in use. A 20kVA oil cooled Deutz diesel generator serves as backup in times of long periods of rain/overcast weather.
