Ye Old Mill opened at Playland Park - Westchester County in 1928, and received a renovation in the 1990s. It was built and designed by Sally Corp and was designed to travel underneath the structure of the Dragon Coaster, in fact much of the Dragon Coaster’s support beams are built on top of the tunnels. It is listed as a National Historic Landmark and is one of seven original rides still operating at Playland to this day. Playland itself is also listed as a Nationals Historic Landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Playland was built but Westchester County to be the crown jewel of its parks system and opened in 1928 as America’s first totally planned amusement parks and is seen as a grandfather and inspiration to modern theme parks such as Disney. It remains the only Art Deco themed amusement park, and the only government owned and operated amusement park in America; the park is operated by Westchester County Parks.
