The new 2013/2014 BMW R 1200 GS - it certainly is more powerful, more comfortable and more technically advanced. 125 horsepower and 125 Nm make it the most powerful and the fastest GS ever. Please watch in HD. And indeed - the new R 1200 GS is fast. Faster than ever before. Throttle response seems a bit improved but the biggest difference I found was in the way ESA works in the new GS. Now it really does the job - giving a wide range of adjustment and really noticeable changes in the way bike's suspension works. I believe that the soft setting gives much more pleasant ride than before. Legendary GS' ability to turn without any effort is something people love about all members of the GS family and it's no difference with the new 1200. The way it handles curves makes you smile every time. Fancy LED and projector (à la new Mercedes-Benz CLS) headlamp gives the bike a unique appearance. Another thing you quickly notice is BMW's comeback to traditional indicator switch located on the left side of handlebars. However, it is too far to the right so that some of us will have to reposition the hand while trying to reach it - that's the issue I faced during the ride. The seat can make you slip to the front and end up very close to the tank. It is not as big of a problem as in Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 but annoyed me and I would suggest choosing a touring seat if BMW sells some. Other than that - the bike is very close to being perfect. I honestly love its new design. I liked the previous generation but it seemed a bit too rough. Now it's quite pretty - especially looking from the side.
