Your Photos Are Being Used To Train AI

AI KIDS IMAGES Experts are worried that AI image generators are being trained using pictures of you! They've found pics of real Aussie kids in AI datasets, and they say that's a big breach of your privacy. Researchers from Human Rights Watch recently looked at one of these training data sets called LAION - 5B, and found that in a sample of almost 6,000 images, 190 of them were of Australian children from every state and territory. Human Rights Watch says these images were taken from places like YouTube and Flickr, but also places like school websites and the websites of family photographers. Some of them even had the names of the kids and when and where the photo was taken. LAION says they're just taking images that are publicly available online, and says the best way to keep yourself safe is to not post your photos on the internet. Others think more should be done to protect the identity of kids online. HURRICANE BERYL A powerful hurricane is causing destruction in the Caribbean. Hurricane Beryl is a category five storm, which is the strongest you can get. It's also earlier than usual, in fact, it's the strongest storm that's ever formed in the Atlantic in June. Beryl has already hit several islands in the Eastern Caribbean, and now it's headed towards Jamaica. There are also storm warnings in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Mexico. NEW MCDONALDS BREAKFAST TIME McDonalds has decided to shorten its breakfast hours as Australia deals with a lack of eggs! It's been caused by an outbreak of bird flu in Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT. The price of eggs has gone up, and some supermarkets have limited how many cartons you can buy at once. And now, for the time being, McDonalds is stopping its breakfast menu at 10.30, rather than 12. OLYMPIC SKATEBOARDERS ANNOUNCED Australia, meet your Olympics Skateboarders! The squad of nine was announced today, so let's find out who they are. Seasoned pro Keegan Palmer will rock the green and gold again after his last win at the 2020 Tokyo Games. This is only the second time that skateboarding will feature as an Olympic event, and fearless shredder Liv Lovelace will be making her debut after missing out on the last Games with a broken arm. After lots of practice on his backyard megaramp, yep that's really his backyard, 17-year-old Keefer Wilson will also be catching a plane to Paris. Also on the squad are Australia's two youngest Olympians for 2024, 14-year-olds Arisa Trew and Chloe Covell. GIANT SANDWICH First to an unexpectedly giant sandwich, put together in Bolivia. It contains 300 kilograms of flour and a whopping 380 kilograms of pork! To make it, more than 100 students helped out. Feeling hungry? Well, I'm sure there's some left. ROBOT GUIDE-DOG Now to an unexpectedly furless guide-dog. Yep, this six-legged Chinese robot has been designed to help people who can't see! It's able to walk around thanks to in-built cameras and sensors, and can even recognise traffic light signals! The robot can also communicate with humans using voice recognition and AI. So yeah, it can pretty much do everything! Except cuddle you and lick your face, and to be honest, I wouldn't want it to do either of those things, even if it could. TALKING TOILET And finally to an unexpectedly chatty toilet. The talking toilet was at this year's VidCon in Anaheim, California, to remind people what not to flush down the loo, like wet wipes. __________________________________________ Subscribe https://www.youtube.com/behindthenews...
