And when I ask myself what can I actually do to promote peace in this crazy world, I come back again to the shakuhachi flute. Playing the shakuhachi has been the principal support for me in my life in showing the way to access a place of centred calmness within, and I know from experience of playing in concerts and receiving feedback that the shakuhachi also helps others to find a way to access peacefulness amidst the madness of the world. This album is an offering to anyone out there struggling with disturbance, agitation, unrest and feelings of helplessness. I hope the sounds and silence of the shakuhachi will help in some small way to plant seeds on your journey to peace within.
