METAL SLUG - No Death Clear

Metal Slug! Everyone knows SNK's legendary arcade action-platform franchise, right? Well, I've got no death clears of Metal Slug X, 3, 4, and 5 on my channel. I'm in the mood to play these again, so I figured I'd start filling in the gaps. There's still plenty to do, so what better place to start than at the beginning? The original Metal Slug is pretty easy by arcade standards. Of course, there are a few dangerous spots that you'll need to practice a bit, but otherwise most people won't need to spend too much time learning to clear this one. It's short, fun, and still looks incredible, so it's a great game to revisit every now and then. Metal Slug has been ported to countless platforms and included in a bunch of collections of the last couple decades. It can be tricky figuring out which version is best. From what I can tell, the Arcade Archives version of each game is your best bet. I heard that the only issue with them is that the built-in autofire rate is too slow, but after trying it in this game (and setting it to 'fastest'), it seems fine? I'll see how it holds up in the later Slugs, but for now I can't complain about it. The only issue to me is the same thing that applies to almost every single Arcade Archives release - poor practice options (Gradius III being one exception). PS. I'm playing the PC version of the Arcade Archives release, by the way. I feel like most people won't even know these exist, since they're only available on the Xbox/Microsoft store and everyone will just look at what's on Steam. This also has an extra feature in the options menu to "display visuals near the edge of the screen that were cut from the original version." Enabling this widens the image on each side by a little bit. I have that turned on too. Why not?
