Britney Spears: 'Born To Make You Happy Describes Myself The Best' | Interview 2000 | TMF

Britney Jean Spears, born on December 2, 1981, is an influential American singer known as the "Princess of Pop." She played a pivotal role in the resurgence of teen pop in the late 1990s and early 2000s. With a staggering 150 million records sold globally, including over 70 million in the United States, Spears stands as one of the top-selling music artists worldwide. Her achievements include a Grammy Award, 15 Guinness World Records, six MTV Video Music Awards, and more. Having inked a deal with Jive Records at just fifteen, Spears' initial two albums, "...Baby One More Time" (1999) and "Oops!... I Did It Again" (2000), achieved remarkable success, establishing her as the best-selling teenage artist ever. The latter set a record with 1.3 million copies sold in its first week. Subsequently, her albums "Britney" (2001) and "In the Zone" (2003) marked a shift towards a more mature and provocative style. In 2007, Spears took on the role of executive producer for her acclaimed fifth album, "Blackout." Despite its brilliance, personal challenges led to limited promotion. This period saw her placed under conservatorship. Spears rebounded with chart-toppers "Circus" (2008) and "Femme Fatale" (2011), the latter yielding her most successful singles era. Notably, she became the second artist in Billboard Hot 100 history, after Mariah Carey, to debut at number one with two or more songs. A four-year concert residency in Las Vegas, "Britney: Piece of Me," paved the way for her subsequent albums "Britney Jean" (2013) and "Glory" (2016). In 2019, her conservatorship battle gained public attention, leading to the #FreeBritney movement. Finally, in 2021, the conservatorship was terminated after Spears bravely spoke out about mistreatment. Watch more TMF videos ► https://bit.ly/MoreTMF Join us.
