Nor' Nor' Groove on Tryfan: The Complete Scramble in Stunning 4K

Nor' Nor' Groove is a scrambling route within a wider gully on the east face of Tryfan, a popular Snowdonia mountain in the Glyderau range. Starting from the Heather Terrace, this grade 1+ line takes the scrambler up to The Notch, which is near the North Tower and only a short distance from the summit of Tryfan. A full route description, photos and more can be found on this webpage: https://thebaldscrambler.co.uk/snowdo... The route contains four sections of interest: 1) A scramble up solid but often slippery rocks to the left of the main gully; this rises quickly above the gully floor but soon levels off. 2) A rest bite of sorts can be found on the heather section, which takes the scrambler away from the gully by about 10 metres or so before rejoining it above its steep wall. 3) The third section is a mixture of various lines, most with loose scree. This section ends at the East Traverse Path, a popular and well-worn route located just below but running parallel to the popular North Ridge. 4) The final section is over polished, solid rocks within the gully bed from the ETP up to the Notch on the North Ridge. As a continuation, most scramblers head up to the summit. While one may be tempted to descend via the gully on the opposite side of the mountain, those inexperienced should avoid it as it's a grade 2 route. My footage was filmed early one morning in October 2021 after heavy rain, hence the slippery rock. This side of the mountain is usually bathed in sunlight by mid-morning, so waiting for dryer conditions would've been a safer option! I hope you enjoy my video, which I shot in 4K. I've kept the editing to a minimum so you can see the entire route.
