Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service is the first department to receive the all-new Ascendant 107’ tractor drawn aerial. Showcased at FDIC 2017, the Ascendant 107’ Tiller features a 750 lb dry payload capacity, with an additional 100 pounds of equipment allowance at the tip. The 107’ Tiller also improves set-up capabilities by increasing the allowable jack-knife angle to 60 degrees. Tuscaloosa’s TDA is a compact vehicle, with an overall apparatus length under 59’. The short bumper, and raised narrow rear end of the truck help the angle of approach and departure. The forward facing and rearview cameras also assist in apparatus maneuvering.
