DOA5LR English Vs Japanese Voice Comparison - TAG EDITION! - (Part 2 - Cute Characters)

Here we go again! This time I’ve compared English and Japanese Tag intro and outro quotes. IMPORTANT NOTE!!~PLEASE READ~ – This isn’t a complete tag intro and outro compilation! This series shows tag win quotes that are UNIQUE from solo quotes for that character. (With the exception of Kasumi) Eg you won’t see much of Hayate in this video because most of his quotes are recycled from his solo ones ect) Appearing in this video: HITOMI, EIN, LEIFANG,AYANE,ELIOT,BRAD WONG, MARIE ROSE, HONOKA, RAIDOU (Not all characters are cute but they activate unique quotes in the cute characters) For more AYANE see Part one and solo collection part 4 Video Notes: I’ve noticed that the solo English quotes are recycled in the tag animations more than the Japanese ones :O Eg. In the opening where Hitomi asks Ayane is shes there for training as well she says “Don’t make me laugh” which if you remember is one of her solo ending quotes. In the Japanese version the subtitles also say this but shes probably saying something closer to “What do you mean TRAINING?! “(as in, This is a real match idiot) Fascinating! Similarly English Honoka’s “Here we go” is recycled in her tag opeining with Ayane but in the Japanese version it sound more like shes saying “I’m coming now!” in a rushed and slightly concerned voice as if she is aware that the very sharp tongued Ayane is waiting for her. Theres a hidden joke thats lost in translation in Honoka’s opening quote with Marie. Heres the explanation from the Wiki: “In the Japanese version of Honoka and Marie Rose's tag team intro, Honoka asks if she could borrow Marie Rose's chest, acting as a pun on their radically different bust sizes and on a typical Japanese request for a sparring round derived from Sumo Wrestling, where it is believed that a wrestler's power lies in their chest due to their heart being located there. This was toned down in localization to Honoka directly requesting for a practice round, since the pun was untranslatable in the West.” This is why Marie appears to be upset and folds her arms!! In her outro with Marie she says “Peace” whereas the subtitle says “Alright!” Is it just me or is Eliot’s Japanese voice in a higher pitch when speaking with Ayane? Compare this quote with the one with Brad. Organising the characters is not as straightforward this time around because of the constant crossover between characters (Almost shattered my sanity whilst editing) thus the series will be organised as follows: 1. Videos will be arranged into groups titled, Ninjas, Cute Characters, Heavy Hitters and Wrestlers, Chinese Martial Arts ect 2. If you’re looking for a particular character be sure to check the description because I will direct you to other videos that they may feature in. Also feel free to check out their solo quotes from the other series! 3. Quotes are organised in terms of ‘leading role’ meaning there are some characters who stand out more or speak more than their partner hence the quote ‘belongs to them’ Eg [Kasumi X (...)] means tags with Kasumi where Kasumi is in the leading role. 4. Virtua fighter guests characters may appear because they activate unique phrases in some dead or alive characters but the focus will not be on them (as i mentioned in the first series) because they always speak their native language. Sorry if this is complicated but when you add another person into the mix all kinds of strange things start to happen. Such is life.
