This piece was written by Teesside composer Graham Twist, who has very kindly dedicated it to the Steven Maxson. It is written with a clear and acknowledged debt to Johann Sebastian Bach's own piece with a similar title, BWV 590. Although played here on two manuals with pedals, it works equally well as a single manual piece with pedals, too. Graham Twist has made his own recording of the piece, which is available on his YouTube channel, here: • Pastorale . In the description of this video, there is a very detailed rationale behind the composition, which many will find interesting to read. This recording was made on a Johannus AGO Live III on the sample of the SIlbermann organ in the Katholische Hofkirche Dresden. Samples have four positions, Console, Front, Centre, or Rear of church. This was recorded using the Rear sample, highlighting the more than generous acoustic in the Hofkirche. Steven Maxson is well known as an organist, conductor, composer, and arranger.
