A) There are mitigating measures in the software that shift the image over time and David tells me he made these twenty years ago using the same tubes and those are still fine. However I'd strongly suggest that if you're the nervous type who insists on firm guarantees, then this really is not the device for you. This is a hobbyist product, made by one bloke for enthusiasts. Oscilloscope tubes were never intended to be used like this, that's the charm of the device - it's unusual…but along with the unusual comes the unknown. Screen burn worriers would be better off steering clear and instead getting themselves a regular mass produced clock.
