Cuba Is The Largest Island Country In The Caribbean Sea By Surface Area ,Covering Roughly 110,860 Square Kilometres, While Haiti , Which Covers 27,750 Square Kilometres, Is The Most Populated Island Country In The Caribbean Sea, With An Estimated Population Of 11.4 Million Inhabitants . The Lucayan Archipelago, Which Consists Of The Country Of Bahamas And The British Overseas Territory Of The Turks And Caicos Islands, Does Not Fall In The Region Of Caribbean Sea, But Are Usually Considered As A Part Of The Wider Caribbean Region. The Average Depth Of The Caribbean Sea Is Roughly 2,200 Meters Or 7,220 Feet. The Deepest Point In The Caribbean Sea Is The Cayman Trough, Located Between Jamaica And Cuba, With An Estimated Depth Of 25,216 Feet Or 7,686 Meters. The Caribbean Sea Is Home To The Second-Largest Barrier Reef In The World, The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, Second Only To The Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
