This cassette is completely unavailable anywhere online for sale, nor does there seem to be any digital version or download, until now. To make matters worse there is a nearly identically named release from 1983, even sharing a good number of tracks, which means they often get mixed up and confused for each other. This version, from 1982, contains five songs that were never rereleased or observed on any other Test Dept album for the duration of their oeuvre. Test Dept. is an incredibly important band in the canon of industrial music. Utilizing the sounds of industry, scrap metals, machinery, to create rhythmic compositions which evoke the terror of capitalist exploitation. They combine an industrial avant-garde sensibility with overt, uncompromising politics. To me it is important to archive their very first statement.
