Part 1, A Primer For Paradigm Shift - A Critique of Capitalism is the first in a series of 4 zoom presentations - Critique; Part 2 - aspects, principles and foundations for paradigm shift; Part 3 - Examples of paradigm shift - suburban permaculture, eco villages, empower young people, pushing back on cars, places in Europe and a lot more; Part 4 - Taking paradigm shift to a wider audience. Many progressive movements and organizations are on the same team and could more coordinate with each other. Also, inviting capitalism to Truth and Reconciliation The critique dissects the myths of capitalism such as the magic hand, efficiency, informed choice, American Exceptionalism and GNP. We will look at the term "external cost" which means the price we pay for almost everything - cars, junk food, celebrity culture - does not account for the damage that product or service can cause to people and planet. Capitalism would not survive if the price we paid covered the cost of what we buy. Downsizing our lifestyles means reducing our support for a dishonest economic system, yet there are many products from the consumer culture that are a great fit for paradigm shift. Capitalism provides us with much to work with for its own replacement. Paradigm shift depends totally on how we prioritize our own time and money.
