The 14.4 kilometre-long alpine road leads up to the Kölnbreinsperre through tunnels and switchbacks carved out of the rock and past thundering waterfalls. KÖLNBREIN DAM WALL is the largest in Austria - 200m high and 626m long. You can learn more about the history of the dam’s construction in the exhibition Verbund Energy World Malta, enjoy the incomparable view from the Airwalk viewing platform or join a guided tour through the Kölnbreinsperre. Also located at the Kölnbreinsperre is the BERGHOTEL MALTA with the Hochalm panoramic restaurant in an extraordinary location at 1,933 metres above sea level in the Hohe Tauern National Park.
