We’re back with another #DogDaysofSummer shout-out, this time with #YourFDLE K-9 Officer Layla from the Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center. K-9 Officer Layla is one of six FDLE K-9s trained in electronic storage detection (ESD)! Within the first two months in the field, she helped Special Agent Kaplan rescue two children. Her primary focus is to find electronic items of evidence on search warrants for cases involving child exploitation, homicide, or human trafficking. Most of Special Agent Kaplan and Layla’s work takes them around the state to assist smaller agencies or sheriff’s offices to fulfill a need that requires her specialized training. When given the chance, Layla loves being playful at work, getting attention, and meeting all her fans. Thank you K-9 Officer Layla and Special Agent Kaplan for traveling all over the state and doing the impossible to find and rescue children from dangerous situations.
