A superb March weekend kayaking in ice, brilliant sunshine and calm weather on Loch Etive, surrounded by the snow capped mountains of Glencoe. Stone cooked venison steak over the campfire accompanies a hot toddy before I hit the sack on a sub-zero night. My titanium tent stove keeps me warm in the morning and cooks breakfast of bacon and eggs whilst I fish on from the shore. Cruising back up the loch I pick up more tiddly spurdog between stops ashore to admire the view and brew yet more coffee. I really couldn't ask for more, except perhaps for some slightly bigger fish!
