It only takes about 187 steps! I'm not saying that it's THE way, I'm just saying it's A way. Making a fountain pen was one of the first things that I wanted to be able to do when I began turning; reason is that it appeared complex, and it also has a very high skill cap that I am in pursuit of. There is SO much more that can go into making a fountain pen and customizing it to be just the way that you want it to be. There are some incredibly talented makers out there and I would highly suggest taking a look at their work (it's awesome). I intend on keeping down this path of fountain pens and seeing how far I can go.
