New Prototype Engine: Porting

Before we get into the assembly of the engine, we need to prep the cylinder head with porting. This was not done with the previous prototype so hopefully by porting this time around, we will be able to gain some extra HP over the previous prototype. I have seen information on porting claiming anywhere from gaining an extra 0.5hp to 2 hp. This variability is also related to what cam you use as well. The higher the lift, the more you will gain. With the cam we intend to use, we may not be gaining 2hp, but I'd say somewhere from 0.5hp to 1hp would be reasonable. Also, because we are using after market valves, we will be doing valve / port mating as well, just to make sure the new valves will seal properly. -------------------- I‘m on Instagram @js_racing_jason
