Initial Impressions – • Heavily boxed • Nice presentation box w/ latches … especially for @ this price point • Scabbard was tight … with a heavy presentation knot. • Blade was covered in white waxy … deodorant material and was difficult to get off… tight fit in saya • Both the throat and pommel cap were lose. • The handle wrapping is a soft cotton and comfortable. • Sword felt overly blade heavy even for a longer heavier blade. Performance • Durable 9160 blade. • Compared to other 30” blades is not very well balanced. • Felt the weight of the sword was doing more of the work. • Cut very well … was more of an effort then other similar sized swords and the same price point. Overall Impression: • Good blade steel for the money. • Not balanced very well. • Shoddy aesthetics • Over packaged for the price range • Used to be sold on KOA … now it is not. • Notorious for quality inconsistency • Conclusion: There are MUCH better swords that have a much better quality consistently for the money.
