Wow! There are parts of Bridgeport that are really rough! On this episode of dashboard tours, I took I95 south from Massachusetts into Connecticut. The plan was to drive through the worst place in the state of Connecticut. Now if you were to ask a Connecticut resident which city was the worst one in their state, you’d hear a lot of people argue whether it was Hartford, Waterbury or Bridgeport. However, all of the data based on crime, poverty and drug abuse says it’s Bridgeport. So, that’s where I would head - right into the worst part of Bridgeport to see what it looked like. The day was clear and it was warm for early spring. It was Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at about 1 in the afternoon. It wasn’t hard to figure out which part of Bridgeport is the worst part. Everyone agrees it’s the city’s infamous east side. My route would take me through the main thoroughfare on Bridgeport’s east side as well as a windy pathway through neighborhoods on the city’s southeast side. You can see the exact route I’ll drive here. While I certainly wouldn’t recommend anyone MOVE to east Bridgeport, I didn’t find the area too rundown or full of potential criminals. However, this side of town is certainly rough, and at night, this place takes on a whole new level of dangerous. If you’re curious, homes we will see go for an average of $250,000.
