I had the opportunity to attend a sneak peek showing of Angel Studios latest film, "Cabrini", in Houston last week. "Cabrini" is Alejandro Monteverde's (Sound of Freedom) new biographical and historical film based on the true story of Francesco Cabrini, an Italian Catholic nun and missionary, living in the late 1800's. Cabrini travels to New York at the urging of the Pope to serve the mission field of Italian immigrants and orphans struggling to survive there. As she fights to accomplish her goals in establishing an orphanage and eventually a hospital, she must overcome the racism, sexism and power struggles of the time, both in New York and Rome, including within the Catholic Church.
