The two things that we love most about New York City are 1) the food (of course) and 2) the rich history. Today we are in the East Village at an iconic Italian pastry shop that has a “rich history”. Veniero’s opened its doors in 1894 and originally started out as a pool hall that served Italian sweets to the heavily Italian clientele of the East Village. Needing help in the kitchen, owner Antonio Veniero hired bakers straight from Naples to assist with the baking. Over time, the sweets began to be in higher demand than the pool tables, so they eventually became a full fledge cake shop. Serving the likes of Frank Sinatra, their delicious sweets have withstood the test of time, and for good reason. Come along for this food adventure!
