So pleased to share this very beautiful video of Johnny singing "Moon River", composed by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, in 1997 on a special celebrating the songs of Johnny Mercer This year and next week, Wed. Nov. 18th, marks the centennial of Mercer's birth. Celebrations and tributes have taken place throughout the year at various Pops concerts, radio performances, and in Savannah, GA, Mercer's place of birth, where a statue in his honor will be unveiled next week. Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will hold a day-long retrospective of films with his music on Wed. the 18th, including a documentary about Mercer produced and directed by Clint Eastwood called "The Dream's On Me"., 6pm, ET. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" will play at midnight, ET. Enjoy - Enjoy- this wonderful performance by Johnny. His magic, and Mercer's are perfection! (Enjoy the humor shared by Mercer at the end).
