This video clip is a recording of the National Gugak Center's special performance which is released for the Lunar New year 2023. ---------- 전통의 재발견ǁ - 연주: 국립국악원 창작악단 - 지휘: 이용탁 예술감독 - 공연 촬영 날짜 및 장소: 2022.5.26.(목) / 국립국악원 예악당 전통의 재발견ǁ는 시대적 요구에 맞춰 국악이 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하는 길잡이로서 큰 의미가 있다. ‘시대와 호흡하는 전통’ 이라는 표제를 가지고, 전통에 기반한 창작을 넘어서 현대적인 관점의 상상을 더해 외연을 넓히고자 시도한 공연이다. 정악의 대표적인 작품인 ‘표정만방지곡(表正萬方之曲)’, 민속음악의 뿌리인 ‘산조’, 대표적인 민요 ‘한오백년’과 우리 민족의 설화인 ‘만파식적’까지 오랜 시간 전승되어 온 예술을 현대적으로 재해석하여 대중에게 친근함을 느낄 수 있도록 하였다. 전통의 재발견 2을 통해 우리 전통 본연의 멋과 함께 국악의 상상력과 아름다움을 새롭게 만나보자. ---------- Rediscovering Traditions Part 2 - Performed by Contemporary Gugak Orchestra (NGC) - Conducted by Lee Yongtak (Artistic Director) - Recorded on May 26, 2022 in Yeakdang Hall of the National Gugak Center Rediscovering Traditions Part 2 has significance as a guide for Korean traditional music to progress in the same direction with today’s world. Under the title “Traditions Resonating with Today’s World,” the performances attempt to expand the reach of Korean traditional music by incorporating imaginative contemporary perspectives into the works, rather than depending blindly on tradition to craft new musical pieces. This project will help the audiences feel more comfortable with Korean traditional music through contemporary reinterpretation of long-standing works of art, including Pyojeongmanbangjigok (classic court music piece), sanjo (basis of folk music), Hanobaeknyeon (popular folk song), and Manpasikjeok (ethnic myth). Let Rediscovering Traditions Part 2 introduce you to the true beauty, imagination, and splendor of Korean traditional music.
