Bucky O'Hare (Arcade) - Dead-Eye Duck 1-Loop 1 Credit Clear read more about this game on at Gaming Hell: https://gaminghell.co.uk/BuckyOHare.html my writer idiot explains to me that this one escalated quickly, from "i should play this to write about it i guess" to "i am going to 1cc this thing if it's the last thing i do LET'S CROAK SOME TOADS". this is arcade Bucky O'Hare (World revision) from start to finish on one coin. only one setting was changed- the game ends after the final stage rather than doing a second loop to give it a nice conclusion and also because, quote, "my poor hands could not take a second loop of this". a lot of things make this difficult to beat on one credit. some items are fixed, but others are random and that's a big problem as you can only get extends by grabbing life-ups when your healthbar is rather full. the shmup stage is probably the biggest hurdle to overcome because the controls suck and while the perspective is a problem across the board on this game on whether something will hit you or not, it's at its worst there. finally, the bosses are gigantic bullet sponges and take forever to die (looking at you, Cyborg Spider). this is why the run is a photo-finish because KOMPLEX just wouldn't sit down like a good toad. still, we eked out a victory by the skin of our teeth. if you're going to cut it, cut it close. as for tips, choice of character is vital- Dead-Eye and Jenny are generally considered to be the best because of their Gimmick Weapons (press both Attack and Jump) that can cover a lot of the screen. for boss fights, you want to stay as far away from them as possible- tempting as it is to smack 'em with a close-range attack, it's usually not worth it. you get two extra bombs upon death but while the screen displays 5 at a time, you can only hold onto 9, so don't be afraid to use them or it'll be a waste. finally, the jump kick is your friend as you get invulnerability frames upon hitting, but the input is very finnicky and prone to not working when you need it, so don't rely on it too much. also the dang video stutters like ~once~ throughout the whole thing, fucking goddam bullshit i hate recording game footage so much how does anyone ever do this for a hobby let alone a living
