Filmraritäten über die coolsten Typen am gesamten Rhein. Von ihnen hing über Jahrhunderte der gesamte Schiffsverkehr auf dem Rhein ab, der hier durch wollte: Den Lotsen, Schiffsführer mit Kapitänspatent. Mit Ruderbooten paddelten sie an jedes Schiff vom Ausflugsdampfer bis zum kapitalen Dampfschlepper mit mehreren Anhangkähnen, um auf den nächsten Kilometern das Steuer zu übernehmen. Hier zu sehen, spektakuläre Aufnahmen von Anton (genannt Toni) Goedert. Toni Goedert wurde 1899 geboren und hat den Beruf des Lotsen seit 1920 ausgeübt. Als DVD und VoD erhältlich bei www.rheindvd.de Rare film footage about the coolest guys all along the Rhine River: The legendarian Rhine pilots of the Loreley valley, captains who jumped from barge to barge, from steamer to steamer to conduct the whole traffic through the Rhine gorges between the Loreley and the riff of Bingen. Here we witness Toni Goedert from 1920 until the late 50ies a Rhine pilot. Later he became a amateur cameraman and captured this colorful scenes including the river covered by ice floes, until the mid 60ies a seasonal natural spectacle which disappeared later mainly because of sewages by the industrie.
