20 Year Old DIEGO MARADONA Puts Up A Show Against BRAZIL! (January 1981)

So there's several versions of this highlight reel on Youtube, but I honestly feel this one's the most complete and fluid edition of them all (except for a couple of plays at the end where the image seems to momentarily lose color calibration). This is basically one of younger Maradona's most exciting performances in my opinion, dominating the game against Tele Santana's upcoming Brazil. You can see the youthful Argentinian superstar gliding across the entire attacking front, commanding his squad, creating danger and making good decisions in almost all of his touches. A truly captivating scene to behold. The match was part of the 1980/1981 Mundialito (also known as "Golden Cup of World Champions"), a short but exciting tournament held in Montevideo (Uruguay) between December the 30th of 1980 and January the 10th of 1981. This event served the purpose of celebrating the 50 year anniversary of football's first World Cup. The tournament reunited the following powerhouses: West Germany, Netherlands, Uruguay, Italy, Brazil and Argentina. In other words, all of the World Champions up to that point except the Netherlands, which replaced England because of organizational issues. Anyway, hope you enjoy this.
