With a housing crisis sending rents soaring and homelessness skyrocketing, a growing number of people in California are turning to living in RVs, trailers and other vehicles as an alternative to life on the streets. “They say that we're not homeless. But we are homeless,” says Beau Beard, who lives in an RV on a stretch of road not far from Los Angels’ Venice Beach. “We're like in the grey area.
